Server setup and administration
setup $25/hr Β· administration from $400/mo
A properly configured server holds up at peak hours and gives the site the resources it lacks on shared hosting. When the server stops responding, the whole business stops at once: orders do not arrive, mail does not go out, and search engines see an error instead of your pages. That is why we maintain servers on a schedule instead of waiting for the first outage.
We size the configuration to the project, prepare the system on Ubuntu or Debian, and migrate the site from its current hosting with minimal downtime. After that we set up separate access rights, switch on the firewall, scheduled backups, and uptime monitoring.
We build websites and online stores ourselves, so we tune the server to the actual load of the project running on it. If the pages are slowed down by the siteβs own code, we measure it and show you the numbers.
A server for your project, set up and looked after
When the server becomes the bottleneck
Clients usually come to us in one of three situations. The store has grown and pages load slowly at peak hours. The current hosting plan is maxed out and the next tier costs as much as a dedicated server. The server is already there, but it was set up in a hurry and nobody has looked after it since.
From there we either prepare a new server or take the existing one on for administration. Sometimes it is the site itself that is slow, and then what you need is website support.

Reviews from our clients
How much does server setup and administration cost?
- Critical failures get priority, and outside the support hours of your plan we work by arrangement
- The monthly fee covers routine work regardless of the number of requests
- Ticket work beyond the routine is billed hourly at a lower rate than one-off work
Server rental and backup storage are paid to the hosting provider, licenses to the software vendor. Support hours are Kyiv time (UTC+2, UTC+3 in summer).

Questions and answers
The measurements show it. If pages are slow only at peak hours while the host caps processes and memory, the problem is the hosting. If the same pages are slow on an empty server, the problem is in the project’s code, and that is fixed on the site’s side.
It depends on the project: how many sites we move, how large the database is, and whether mail and several domains are involved. We give exact deadlines after reviewing the server and put them into the contract before work begins.
We test the project on the new server and switch the DNS records during the quietest traffic hours. Downtime comes down to minutes, but we cannot guarantee it will be zero, because record propagation depends on the TTL and on the registrar. We keep the old mailboxes reachable for a few more days, and any mail and orders that arrive during the switch are reconciled by hand.
The price depends on how many projects live on the server, which services are needed, whether a migration is involved, and the volume of regular work. One-off work without a monthly plan is billed hourly at $25, with a minimum unit of 30 minutes. Setup and migration are estimated individually in hours, based on your server and the number of workstations. Administration starts at $400 per month per server. The fee covers routine work, monitoring and a guaranteed response time. On a monthly plan, ticket work beyond the routine is billed at a lower rate than one-off work. We calculate the cost after reviewing your server and put it in writing in the contract.
Yes. Setup, migration, and incident analysis are billed hourly, with no subscription. But then nobody watches the server between requests, we do not run monitoring or verify backups, and you will be the first to learn about a problem.
With a review. We look at the system and service versions, how access is configured, the state of backups, free space, and the error logs. The initial review and a rough estimate are done before the contract and are not billed separately. A full audit with a list of problems and priorities is quoted as separate work.
It depends on the traffic and the demands of your projects. Several small sites run comfortably on one server, while a busy store is better given one of its own. Administration is billed per server on one of three monthly plans, with no separate fee per site. We pick the plan after reviewing the server, based on the number of projects, the load and the response time you need.
Monitoring records the outage around the clock and the alert arrives immediately. We work on it during the working hours of your plan (Kyiv time), and critical cases go to the front of the queue as soon as working hours start. We do not provide 24/7 on-call support; work outside the schedule is possible by separate arrangement.
Both, with Ukrainian and European providers. For websites, stores, and web applications we install Linux, usually Ubuntu or Debian, with or without a control panel. For accounting software we prepare Windows Server.
You do. The server is registered to you, root access and the provider panel stay with you, and we work under separate accounts. If the engagement ends, we hand over the configuration notes and close our own access.
